At Sotheby's a Charity Auction of Art Photography for Pyari Onlus

In a lively bidding contest, all lots were sold at "The Curry Auction", a charity auction which took place Tuesday, 22nd June 2010 in Milan for Pyari Onlus, with the cooperation of Sotheby's and Fondazione Mazzotta. Many famous masters of contemporary photography with names such as Elliott Erwitt, Gianni Berengo Gardin, Steve McCurry, Gabriele Basilico, Mary Ellen Mark, Arno Rafael Minkkinen and Gian Paolo Barbieri had donated 65 of their photography works to the benefit of Pyari Onlus with more than 350 people attending the venue. All the lots offered for sale were eagerly snatched up by participants, confirming that collecting of photographic art is living through a period of flourishing interest and that buyers are even more keen to bid up for quality pieces when the cash is going to the benefit of a worthy cause.
